Her works are an essence of memories, observations, photos, dreams. Such a diversity of sources, transforms into a final artwork. She focus on understanding a role of a painter contemporary. Using a traditional technique of oil painting, she creates a suggestive views, turning our attention to meaningful fragments of neverminded everyday life.
Maria Turel creates her suggestive visions according to magic realism and new romantism.
The world she builds in her paintings is idealized, unreal and coming from reality.
A special role in Maria Turel's art plays nature, with is depicted as a silent observer of human activities. Nature as background and subject of art. Human beings are like statues, looking at neverending space. Misterious emptiness seems to be a source of their melancholic calmness.
ABOUT
ILLUSTRATIONS
After her graduation she turned her attention into an illustration. Thanks to her husband, who introduced her into a world of comics and invented a plot of a comic story which she could draw, she gave a green light to illustrating. Her illustrations are mostly digital works, based on sketchbook drawings. They relate to books she currently read or her everyday life situations.
